The CORE pre-release program has started.  Orders must be reserved prior to May 1, 2005.  The mailing list is filling up fast.  The biggest difference between the 02's and the 03's is size.  The 03's are more structured and bigger overall.  This goes for all of our reds.  There are 2 reasons. 1-03 was the first year we completely controlled the vineyard and 2-we are working with 2 clones of Mourvedre, Grenache, Cab and Syrah rather than one.

Vineyard News:  17" of rain this year!  Pruning and replanting was completed the 3rd week of March.  50% budbreak in the Grenache the middle of March and budbreak just started at the end of March in the Mourvedre.

Wine News:  Elevation Sensation and Hard Core sold out in less than 4 months! The 03's are even better than the 02's if you can believe that!  All of the wines have more structure and are a little bigger.  Part of this is due to greater clonal choices and 03 was the first year we completly controlled the vineyard.

Recap of the 04 vintage- All wines went through 7-10 day cold soaks before fermentation started.  Fermentations lasted 21-27 days. Almost every lot was co-fermented, I find that the wine integrates much better.

PAST WORLD TOUR NOTES: So many fun events and so many great people.  First there was New York for our distributor tasting.  We had a great time, thkx Martin Scott.  Than there was the Wine Cask wine futures event in Santa Barbara.  Lots of very knowlegeable consumers and a great time was had by all.  Thkx Doug, Wendy, Jamie, Heather's and Dennis.  Early sales are going very well.
