I will be traveling to Napa, SF area, Sacramento, and Fresno the week of October 13 to service our Core group and taste some new recruits, wish me luck.
It appears that the red blend is a big favorite of restaurants for the ease of food pairing and the great price.
Dave put together the 02 blends on the 23rd. 400 cases of a 45% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, and 25% of Syrah. 125 cases of a 55% Mourvedre, 25% Grenache, and 20% Cabernet Sauvigon. 100 cases of 65% Mourvedre and 35% Grenache. The pricing will almost be identical to the 2001.
Harvest is almost complete, with a small amount of grenache for late harvest. The fruit has been beautifully balanced this year. The grenache came in at 26.5-27.0 brix and 3.31-3.42 pH, mourvedre 25-25.2 brix and 3.7-3.8 pH, and the Syrah at 24.5 brix and 3.6 pH. Yields were at 1-1.5 tons/acre for all varietals. |
